When can I use Purrfast?

Purrfast is in development. Join the waitlist and we'll email you once, when the beta opens. People on the waitlist get to try it before it goes on sale.

Which tools and folders does Purrfast look at?

The first version looks at git worktrees left by Claude Code, Codex and Cursor; dev servers and MCP servers that are still running; Xcode DerivedData, device support files and simulators; Android emulators and system images; caches from npm, pnpm, yarn, bun, pip, uv, cargo, go, Homebrew and CocoaPods; and node_modules, .next, dist, target and build folders in projects you haven't touched for a while. AI chat history in ~/.claude/projects and ~/.codex/sessions is listed but always protected.

How does Purrfast decide a worktree is safe to delete?

A worktree is marked "safe to delete" only when all of these are true: no uncommitted changes or stash, no commits that exist only there, no running process using the folder, the branch is merged or its pull request is closed, and nothing changed in the last 7 days. If any check fails or can't be answered, the worktree goes to "take a look" or "leave it alone" with the reason shown. Deleted items go to the Trash, and every action is logged so you can put it back.

Can Claude Code, Codex or Cursor use Purrfast?

Yes. Purrfast comes with an MCP server. Your agent can ask what's taking space, check a worktree and plan a cleanup, but it can't delete anything through Purrfast: the plan shows up in the Purrfast app, and nothing is removed until you confirm it there. Each agent only sees the folders you allow; outside them it gets totals, not paths. What the agent reads is also sent to the AI service it runs on.

What does Purrfast send over the network?

Purrfast downloads signed cleaning rules once a day, checks your license, and asks npm, PyPI, Homebrew, Hugging Face or Ollama whether a specific version can still be downloaded. That check sends a package name and version, never a file path. There is no analytics SDK. Full Disk Access is optional: without it, Purrfast still scans and lists the folders it couldn't read.

How much will Purrfast cost?

Planned price: scanning is free, and your first 10 GB of cleanup is free. After that it's $19.99 once for 3 Macs, including a year of rule and app updates. You can renew to keep getting new rules; if you don't, the rules you already have keep working. Refunds within 30 days. Purrfast needs macOS 14 or later.
